Running A Tight Ship
Our new business partner, Corpach Boat Building Company, will be running the office and Lynda, Magz or Anne Marie will be your friendly, first point of contact for telephone enquiries on 07789036515 or email enquiries on info@sail-lizziemay.com and for processing bookings. Corpach Boat Building Company have many years’ experience of supporting Caledonian Discovery who have operated Dutch barge cruises on the Caledonian Canal for 17 years and Don Hind, as well as being the MD of The Corpach Boat Building Company, is a pioneer of traditional sailing in the UK from the days when he owned and operated Lorne Leader, a Brixham trawler, in the same waters in which Lizzie May now ply’s her trade. I’m delighted to be working with Don who will be skippering several of the cruises on our 2014 sailing programme.
Looking ahead we will continue to explore West Coast waters that are teeming with wildlife with the most majestic scenic backdrop of mountain, misty isle and seascapes you can imagine. With Scotland’s changeable weather comes glorious and ever shifting contrast of colours that help create fascinating and mysterious multi-layered land and seascapes. We know from our personal experiences in the Mediterranean, Pacific, Baltic and Brittany that Scotland truly has some of the most interestingly varied cruising in the world. We would rather sail here than anywhere else and we are delighted to share our enthusiasm for Scottish sailing with our clients.
For 2014 we shall be operating from our new base at Loch Creran in Appin, a few miles north of Oban. Loch Creran is sheltered and well placed to give ready access to the Firth of Lorn and Sound of Mull, where our adventures begin. Barcaldine is well served by buses and taxis from Oban and Connel (Oban and Connel are both station stops on the West Highland railway line from Glasgow) and free car parking is available close to the embarkation point for Lizzie May.
