The beautiful island of Canna was gifted to the National Trust for Scotland in 1981. It is the most westerly of the small isles boasting white sandy beaches and stunning scenery, giving host to its nickname as the “Garden of the Hebrides”. It hosts a large population of seabirds (including puffins, white-tailed eagles and crossbills), marine animals (dolphin, porpoise, orca whale, minke whale and basking sharks) and in the spring and summer there are carpets of yellow, pink, blue and purple wildflowers.
You may wish to visit Canna House which is steeped in Hebridean history and folklore, The Old Dairy, a tearoom and community shop.
